One of the coolest movie-villains ever, in my opinion. I put a lot of effort into this picture, so I hope you all like it
Edit: Yes, third version of the picture is up, with improved chainmail, better shading and helmet, and some effects to focus more on the ring. Geez, I've never put so much time in one single picture yet ^^
Well... advanced critique... right... you must know you did a serious mistake by setting that... i'm a criticism bitch...
For starting, i guess the main weird thing i can see about it it's the unproportional helm... i mean...it's absolutely huge compared to a normal head and the face portion is much smaller than it should be in relation to the whole head. The neck is also a bit too thick, but nothing as absurd as the head. If you take some time to fix the head and a bit of the neck the picture will gain a lot.
Going a bit further, i can see his right hand (the one on our left side) looks a bit odd too... i can't say why exactly; but it looks like its volume isn't quite right...some fingers are thicker than others and are being shown in a weird position. I think you should've drawn some guidelines for that... or even taken a look at your own hand on that pose through a mirror to get the right position.
The rest looks ok. I guess you tried to draw some effects on the armor that didn't come out quite well. I think you should leave those kind of effect to a possible coloring job to be done later or go ahead and make a fully shadowed/effected black and white pic, but not do the mid term.
Finalizeng, i think you kinda drew the armor without thinking of the body under it, so it passes a weird feeling at some points like the arm and the legs. I'd suggest you to draw the body under the armor with a really light lead and then draw the armor covering it. You will have much more control over the armor shapes and angles. That might be really helpful.
Well...that's it. I gotta congratulate you for pulling this out, cause it seems to have been a bit complicated to draw, and admit you did it quite well, you just can't stop trying to improve.

Mistake? I have FORESEEN a comment like this when I set that, and I greatly appreciate it! Your critics are always useful and constructive, just what I need to improve on my drawings
I made a second attempt at that picture, trying to improve it as far as my skills allowed, and Advanced Critique is still encouraged. So feel free to let it out again

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
